I am officially hooked. I love spending time coloring in the evening or when I have a few minutes during the day. For someone who struggles with anxiety, coloring is relaxing and allows my creative juices to flow without a big production. I just pull out my pencils and get started. I am personally partial to coloring books with animals in them. Maybe because as a young child I wanted to be a zoologist. Maybe it is because God's creativity comes out in the variety of animals He has placed here. I stand in awe of their beauty and melt with the cuteness of some. Here is a short list of animal coloring books for adults. The ones that I own personally I have put an asterisk beside. I highly recommend those!

{NOTE: Most of these books have photos of sample pages in the review section. Take a peek to see if it is a style you would enjoy coloring.}

*Birds: A Mindful Coloring Book- A friend gave me this one for Christmas, and it is one of my favorites! The artwork by Georgie Woolridge is so beautiful...the pages are larger than normal and of high quality. If you love birds you will love this book! Here are a few that I have colored...

{European Robin, Flamingo, and Blue-footed Booby}

  Waterlife: A Mindful Coloring Book - This book comes out in March. It is from the same artist as the above bird book. I CAN'T wait to get my hands on it, because I love the bird one so much!

Animals: A Mindful Coloring Book-Also by Georgie Woolridge (the same artist for the above two books). This one doesn't come out until September 2016. Can't wait!

*Creative Coloring Animals: Art Activity Pages to Relax and Enjoy! (Design Originals)- Another favorite of mine. I LOVE Valentina Harper's artwork! It isn't as "classic" as the above artist, but her drawings are adorable, beautiful, and intricate.

*Creative Coloring Birds: Art Activity Pages to Relax and Enjoy!- Here is Valentina Harper's bird book. Also a favorite of mine.

Animals by Amy Blevins is a downloadable coloring book that I adore. I love that you can print them out especially if you want multiply copies. The animals are beautiful and there is a wide range of them.  Here are a few that I have done to give you an idea of the designs...

Everyone Colors: Amazing Sea Life: A coloring book for all ages- Simple, beautiful designs.

Creative Haven SeaScapes Coloring Book (Creative Haven Coloring Books)

Stress Less Coloring - Animals: 100+ Coloring Pages for Peace and Relaxation- Love these pictures!

Tools for coloring:

Here is what I use...

Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils-These soft core pencils are great for laying down color in large areas.

Prismacolor Verithin Colored Pencils-These are what I use for detail work.

Sanford Prismacolor Colored Pencil Accessory Set, 7-Piece-Love this! The blender pencil is such a fun item to use to blend color. It also includes erasers, a sharpener, and a pencil lengthener.

LolliZ Gel Pens -When I don't want to go the pencil route I use these. Bolder colors.

Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Gel Ink Pen Set-I LOVE these pencils. The metallic quality is awesome!

Happy Coloring!
