A Whole New Start: Project Life

The Mom Creative

I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years.  However, in the past five years or so it has become more of an ordeal than anything else.  I thought as my boys got older that I would have more time to scrapbook, but somewhere along the way I lost some of my motivation and just plain lacked the time to get it all done.  I have done our wedding album, a heritage album, and I currently have three types of  "running" albums...one for each son and one "family" album for Tim and I.  Trying to stay ahead of three running albums is almost like trying to run a marathon without any training.  Consequently, I have even stopped taking pictures because the more pictures I took the more pressure I felt to do something with them.  Sad, isn't it?

Candace at His Mercy is New has been talking about Project Life on her blog for over a year now.  I got tempted last year, but I have finally taken the plunge.  Project Life is a simple way to do scrapbooking so that it isn't as time-consuming and you can actually get pages done.  I really struggled with moving away from Creative Memories which I have used from the get-go, but when I saw the Project Life Core Kit - Cobalt Edition
I just had to take the plunge!

I am going to use Project Life for the our family album to see how I like the system.  I am so excited about the prospect of not having to create layouts, crop a lot of photos and then put adhesive on them to get them on the page.  I am currently in 2009 with our family album and am looking forward to getting caught up in it!  For the time being the boys albums will continue to be Creative Memories until I use up the supplies I have.

So I still haven't received my Project Life supplies (they shipped yesterday), but can't wait! I have committed Tuesday evenings to working on albums for at least an hour until I get caught up.
