My Darkness into Light

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Life can be dark. It doesn't matter the circumstances...there are as many as there are people in the world. One person's darkness may not be another's. For me, it has been broken relationships and ill-treatment from peers. For others, it may be a hard road like raising a child with a disability or major health concerns. A divorce. A death in the family. Depression. Anxiety. Not enough money in the budget. A wayward child. A sin committed that changed a life forever. The list could go on and on.

Behind all that darkness is God...a God who knows how to turn on the light. Our darkness can be taken by Him and used to produce a blessing. The child that is a challenge to raise grows our hearts and blesses us with love. The broken relationships can be healed or new ones are put in their place. The abuse can be redeemed by advocating for those in the same situation. The anxiety and depression can make us compassionate towards others.  God will never leave us hopeless. We must look for how He will take those hard parts of our lives and add light to them.

So what is your darkness? I am positive that God is standing by, waiting to switch on the light in His own timing. Wait on Him to illuminate your darkness.

Are you in need of hope? This year I am doing a series on hope. Click here to read more Verses of Hope.
