A few weeks back I was in church listening to a sermon about the Ten Commandments. The pastor posed the question, "Does God raise His eyebrow at you when you____________?" {Fill in the blank with whatever is your latest sin.} I leaned over to a dear friend of mine and quipped, "God doesn't have eyebrows." She laughed and wrote down my line on her sermon notes. And then it hit me. God really doesn't have eyebrows because...
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Our God doesn't condemn. Our God is not mad at us. Sure, He deals with our sin. There are consequences for our actions. There is natural fallout when we fall apart. However, it doesn't take away His love. He doesn't raise an eyebrow at our actions. He already knows what we are going to do. And long before we messed up He fessed up. He confessed His love for us.
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
So the next time you mess up. You sin. You fail. Remember, God doesn't have eyebrows.
