Operation Christmas Child {Packing a Shoebox}

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Are you going to be getting a box ready for a child overseas through Operation Christmas Child? If you have never done this before I would highly recommend it! Samaritan's Purse sends thousands of boxes overseas filled with necessities, toys, etc. for kids that would otherwise not receive anything for Christmas.  We will be packing ours in the coming week.  If you are fresh out of creative ideas here are some websites with whole lists of ideas on what to pack and how to pack...

Daze of Adventure has instructions on the basics, lists on what to pack, and other blog links with more ideas.

Faithful Provisions has 101 ideas to choose from.

Mama Jenn talks about packing your box with reusable wrapping.

Another great post from My Blessings From Above...even book ideas to read to you kids about giving to others.

And if you are really busy you can now build a box online!

Last year we got to hear a woman from Moldova speak about her experience receiving a shoe box in an orphanage.  It was so touching to hear the other side of the story from someone who has actually received a box!

Have fun filling your boxes!!!
