Cranberry Bliss Bars

For the first time ever this past holiday season I had a few Cranberry Bliss Bars from Starbucks.  I recently made these at home and have to say that they do taste like the real thing! I originally got this recipe from The Shades of Pink.


Cranberry Bliss Bars Bars


1 c. butter
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. orange extract
1 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. ground ginger
1/4 c. craisins, minced
1/4 c. white chocolate, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine sugar and butter, mix well, blend in eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 9X13 pan, bake at 350 about 25 minutes.

Frosting
4 ounces cream cheese
2 T. butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. orange extract

Mix ingredients well, spread over cooled bars

Topping
1/3 c. craisins, chopped
1-2 T. orange zest
1/3 c. white chocolate chips

Sprinkle craisins and orange zest over the bars. In Microwave white chocolate until melted (about 30 seconds,stir and another 20 seconds), drizzle over bars. Allow to set about 20 minutes, cut into triangles and serve.
