Top Three Earthquakes

Which three quakes are the strongest ones ever recorded? We are going to go over the three strongest quakes today and find on the map where they occured. We will read some more books on quakes and work on our lapbooks.

Here are the three strongest quakes....

The Great Chilean Earthquake (9.5)-occured in 1960 off the southcentral coast of Chile and caused a tsunami in the Pacific. Here's a map of the area affected.

The Indian Ocean Earthquake (9.3)- occured on December 26, 2004 off the west coast of Sumatra.The Great Alaskan Earthquake (9.2)- Also called the Good Friday Quake because it occured on Good Friday, March 27, 1964.
