Project Life for Puppies

The Mom Creative

So I have finally got to my favorite pictures of 2009!  Our mini schnauzer, Titan, was born May 1st of 2009.  I just love his puppy pictures! Makes me miss those times when he was little and fluffy.

The top photo on the page is "Titan in a teacup" a few days after he was born.  It is amazing how quickly they grow!  Splitting the photo in half seemed to work well.  I am still struggling with how to make all my photos fit.  Sometimes I have one or two photos that need to be horizontal for the page and yet they are vertical or vice versa.  Any ideas to work around that?  I am sure as I get more adept at this system I will be able to deal with it better.

Love the photos of Titan and his sister, Tazzleena (or Tazlina...we aren't sure how her name is spelled.)

Can't wait to work on more puppy pictures!  Just ordered some more from SnapFish!

Puppy Pillows

A couple of weekends ago a friend of mine had to go out of town for a conference.  She left her daughter and dog with us.  Their dog is actually Titan's mom, Olive. Well, when they brought in Olive's kennel I noticed a cute pillow in it.  I told my friends' daughter, "We should make one for Titan."  The next morning we got up and went to JoAnn's to buy fabric and stuffing for the pillow. We bought polar fleece to make the pillow comfy and warm. One yard of the bone pattern you see in the pictures and one yard of a light blue fleece that matched is all we needed.  Basically, the pillow is made like those tie blankets that are so easy to make.  We laid the two pieces of fabric on top of each other and cut a fringe all the way around.  Then we tied the fringes together on three sides.  Finally, we stuffed the pillow and finished tying the last edge.
We even had enough material for a small blanket.  Titan is such a "blankie boy"...carries it around with him sometimes!

Titan's Party

Monday, May 3, 2010

Titan turned one this past Saturday.  Here are a few pictures from his "party" which basically consisted of his mom and baby uncle coming over to play.

Opening his gift...

Eating doggie ice cream!  They actually sell this stuff right beside the human ice cream at the grocery stores!  Amazing!  It is called Frosty Paws, and all the pups LOVED it.
Titan decided he didn't need his ice cream on the plate...he took it and put it on the carpet to partake of it.

Aurik, Titan's baby uncle, decided that plates are for standing on while you eat your ice cream.
Olive, Titan's mom, was the only dignified diner!  She lapped her from the plate!
Party games!

Happy Birthday, Titan!

One year ago today we were over at a friend's house watching their miniature schnauzer give birth to her pups.  One of those puppies became ours, Titan! Although we didn't get to see Titan being born we did witness the birth of his sister, Tazzlina.  Here are a few pictures of TiTi (pronounced Tie-Tie)....or if you want to go for the full blown name...Titanium Oliver von Kaspar!

Science brings beauty...

Friday, April 16, 2010

We had a great week this week...we are beginning to drop subjects that we have completed for the year! Spelling, Word Roots, and History will be done very soon!  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Next week is our curriculum fair which is coming at the right time...it will re-energize me a bit as I am feeling burnt out on schooling right now.

This week Noah's science brought some beauty to our home instead of the normal excitement of blowing something up!  I normally don't buy fresh flowers for our home...it is just something extra that we don't need to spend money on.  This week, however, Noah needed to do a flower dissection.  So I headed to the store, and found some beautiful tulips! We did the dissection and then got to enjoy them sitting in the window sill! I fell in love with their beauty, and now I want to buy more!  See, science IS dangerous even if you never blow up a thing!  LOL

We also got a chance to take care of Titan's little Uncle Aurik. Isn't he a doll???!!  This is good training for the kids as they help train this little one and clean up his messes!
