When We Complain To God

What does God do when we complain?  Stick them in a box so that He can get to them later?  Run them by His committee of angels?

Habakkuk had a few complaints...

How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?

Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?

Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?

Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?

When we complain it is the opposite of gratitude.  We are rejecting what God puts in our lives.  Habakkuk was tired of the ill treatment. He wanted God to save him out of the misery. You would think God would get angry. And sometimes He does.  Remember the snakes in the desert? But there are other times when He answers us.  He doesn't get angry at Habakkuk.  He only says,

"Wait for it."
{Habakkuk 2:3}

Wait and see.  Wait and you will understand what I am doing. You don't understand because you don't see the big picture.  The bigger story. God knows our problems become praises in His plot line. We just need to wait on Him. We need to learn accept whatever God allows in our lives and then wait for the plot twist.  Because He won't let enter any circumstance or person that won't ultimately bring about some growth and good in our lives.  That isn't to say that it will be easy.  It will hurt.  There will be heartache. But in the waiting we will get to see God and His love for us.

 So I am trading in my complaint box for a gratitude journal...the problems for praises.
