A Coat of Many Colors and Some Awful Brothers

He may have been prideful. It didn't justify slavery. A foreign land. A false accuser. A foul prison cell. Yet, the Lord was with him and he prospered. A second-in-command type of prosperity.  Then one day...

A group of men showed up.  Not just any group of men.  The Ones. They had taken his clothes, thrown him down a cistern, and debated his fate.  His fate turned into slavery in Egypt.  How could they have done this? They were his brothers!

Now, he was in a position of power over them.  They needed him.  They needed the food he could offer them. How do you respond to the ones that had caused you such misery? This is what he did...

And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him...Genesis 45:2

"I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you...So then,  it was not you who sent me here, but God." Genesis 45: 4-5 and 8

"Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, do no be afraid. I will provide for you and your children."  Genesis 50:19-21
