The Encounter by Stephen Arterburn

Is unforgiveness eating at you? The Encounter is a novel written by Stephen Arterburn about a young man's journey to forgive the mother that abandoned him. This was a sweet story with a strong message of forgiveness.  It was a quick and easy read (read it in one day!) that I thoroughly enjoyed. The novel is set in Fairbanks, Alaska.  I live in Alaska so I was very familiar with the setting.  Stephen draws an accurate picture of what Alaska is like for his reader. At the end of the novel there is a section entitled, "The Truth Behind the Fiction" that tells how Stephen came to write the book and details how to navigate through the process of forgiveness. I would highly recommend this book if you are struggling with unforgiveness, want to learn a little more about Alaska, or just want a touchy story written in parable form.

Thomas Nelson has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.  I am not required to give a positive review.  All my opinions are my own.
